Managing and Storing Messages

Whenever you receive an email message in Mac OS X Mail, the Mail icon in the Dock changes to show how many new messages you have. Messages appear in your in-box in the order in which they were received (the most recently received messages appearing at the top of the list). To read a message, simply click it in the Mail window.

Once you have read your email messages, a convenient way to organize them is to store them in mailboxes. Think of mailboxes simply as folders that store email messages.
