Mac OS X–native applications are applications that have been specifically designed to take full advantage of the features of Mac OS X, including its new look, stability, and performance. Mac OS X comes with several applications, all of which are Mac OS X–native. In the Applications folder, you’ll find all of the applications that come with Mac OS X, including Internet Explorer, iMovie, iTunes, QuickTime Player, and Sherlock. To take full advantage of Mac OS X, you’ll want to use Mac OS X–native applications. Many software manufacturers have shipped or announced plans to ship a Mac OS X version of their product. Mac OS X has also attracted many new developers to the Mac platform.
