Storing Files in Your Home

In Mac OS X, each user has a place to store their own files. This place is called Home. Your Home is already set up with folders for items such as your documents, movies, music, and pictures. To get to your Home, simply click the Home icon in the Finder window toolbar.

When you store files in your Home, Mac OS X can do more with them. For example, an image stored in the Pictures folder in your Home can be used as your desktop picture or as part of a slide show screen saver.
