Working with Windows and Folders

Everything in Mac OS X is designed to reduce desktop clutter and make finding your files easy. When you open a new folder, you don’t open a new window; you just change views in the same window. However, if you need to have more than one Finder window open (for example, when copying a file) it’s easy to open a new window.

Want to quickly move a file to a folder several levels deep on your hard disk? Simply drag the file to a folder, and after few moments the folder opens (a feature known as spring-loaded folders). Move to another folder and watch as it opens. Keep going until you find where you want to put your file.
